The 25/5 Project!
This year is a big one… Thunk-It is turning 5! To mark the occasion, we’re launching The 25/5 Project…let’s give you the rundown. The 25/5 Project is a cross-community creative heritage celebration that highlights not only our birthday, but also Heritage Volunteers’ 10th Anniversary and Pocklington Arts Centre’s 25th year. Three milestones. One big celebration! We can’t wait!

All About 25/5
At the heart of this project is the incredible story of Katharine Stewart (1872–1949), the unsung heroine of Burnby Hall Gardens. While Percy Stewart is the name most people remember, it was Katharine who quietly helped shape Pocklington’s future. She funded, maintained, and ultimately gifted the gardens to the town and we think it’s time she got the recognition she deserves.

The 25/5 Project will run across three fun strands:
Awareness – telling Katharine’s story
Engagement – getting creative with the community
Celebration – bringing it all together to share!

We’re so excited to announce that The 25/5 Project will be running over International Women’s Weekend, and what better time to celebrate!

Here’s what we’ve got planned:
Two heritage shows - brought to life by our talented Wolds Wonders & Youth Theatre Groups.
Recycled Water Lily Display - beautifully hand-crafted lilies, created especially for the project.
Talks from Burnby Hall’s heritage volunteers - sharing stories, knowledge, and inspiration from our local history.

This project brings together creativity, heritage, and community spirit, and we can’t wait for you to be part of it.
