Autumn 2026 Newsletter!
Hello! What a summer it has been for Team Thunk-it!
We’ve been travelling across the county, getting creative with young people in all sorts of places. From our weekly visits to our friends at PT Childcare in Catterick, to sessions in Beverley with Abilite, as well as Accessible Arts and Media, Young People Count, Base Camp and plenty more.
It’s been a wonderfully busy few months, full of creativity, new faces and new experiences. A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us, welcomed us into their spaces or helped make the summer possible.
Before we take a little breather and head into the autumn term, we wanted to bring together everything that’s coming up over the next few months.
PLATFORM 66
We had a brilliant time at our summer activities at Platform 66, with 45 young people joining us across the sessions.
Young people described the activities as “fun”, “exciting” and “new”, and we’re delighted that the fun will continue with weekly sessions this autumn.
Weekly sessions from 14th September:
Creative Youth Hub | Ages 6–11 4pm–5pm Monday's (term time only)
A different creative activity each week, with opportunities to explore arts, crafts, making and design.
Youth Hangout | Ages 10+ 5.15pm–6.30pm Monday's (term time only)
A relaxed space to spend time with friends, play pool and board games, get involved in activities or simply hang out.
Cost: £1 per young person, per session. A tuck shop will also be available.
NEW: SEND YOUTH THEATRE IN POCKLINGTON
We’re really excited to be launching a brand-new, FREE weekly SEND Youth Theatre at Pocklington Arts Centre.
Following six brilliant sessions in Pocklington exploring puppetry, drama, music, movement and more, we’re delighted to be able to continue the fun this autumn.
Our SEND Youth Theatre is a friendly, accessible and welcoming space where young people can:
Get creative and explore performance
Build confidence
Try drama, movement and other creative activities
Make new friends
Have fun and express themselves
Tuesdays | 5pm–6pm
Pocklington Arts Centre 15th September to 24th November Excluding half term.
A space for parents and carers too
Parents and carers are very welcome to stay while their young person takes part. We’ll provide free refreshments, giving you the opportunity to relax, meet other parents and carers, and connect with others.
Sessions are FREE.

SEND SESSIONS IN YORK
We’ve had some fantastic SEND sessions over the summer at Clifton Explore Library.
Over a few very creative days, we travelled to the seaside and explored the woods, all without leaving the library! We’re now looking forward to welcoming everyone back for our monthly sessions this autumn.

We also provide free refreshments for parents and carers on site. You’re welcome to meet and chat with other parents and carers, or simply enjoy a quiet hour while your young person takes part.

Our wonderful monthly SEND sessions at Rural Arts in Thirsk are continuing this autumn.

We’re also holding two special extended sessions this autumn, bringing young people aged 6–16 together for three hours of creative play, making and performance.

POCKLINGTON YOUTH THEATRE
Pocklington Youth Theatre is back for the autumn term!
Autumn Term 2026
Wednesdays at Pocklington Arts Centre
5–8 years: 4pm–5pm
8–11 years: 5pm–6pm
11+ years: 6pm–7pm
Sessions run from Wednesday 9th September to Wednesday 25th November.
Please note there will be no session on 28th October due to half term.

TADCASTER YOUTH THEATRE
Our FREE Tadcaster sessions are back this autumn at Tadcaster Barn.
For ages 5-11 | Thursdays from 5.30pm - 7pm
And there’s something special to work towards this term: a festive show!
Young people will have the chance to get creative, develop ideas together and work towards sharing a festive performance.
Sessions are completely FREE.
Lots is happening at Thunk-It this autumn, and we can’t wait to get started.
Whether your young person has been coming along for years or is thinking about joining us for the very first time, they’ll receive a warm welcome.
