Pocklington Youth Theatre: Welcome to Vocasoid!

This term, our Pocklington Youth Theatre has travelled far into the future!

Our young people have been creating original radio plays set in the futuristic world of Vocasoid, developing imaginative characters, exciting storylines and immersive soundscapes.

From recording voices to creating sound effects, they have explored a completely different way of telling stories and have shown incredible creativity throughout the process.

We can't wait for audiences to hear what they've created.

Tadcaster Barn Youth Theatre!

We're nearly at the end of another fantastic term at Tadcaster Barn Youth Theatre.

This term's project, Tadcaster's Tales of Curiosity, has invited young people to follow their imaginations and create stories inspired on the theme of curiosity.

The result? Three wonderfully inventive adventures:

🚽 W.C. Toilet Portal

🚀 Stuck in Space

🧙 The Curious Colours & The Mystical Wizard

Using performance, storytelling and shadow puppetry, our young people have transformed their ideas into magical worlds full of surprises.

Who knew a toilet could become a portal? Or that curiosity could launch someone into space?

25/5 Celebrations!

Recently we came together to celebrate the achievements, creativity and stories that have emerged through our 25/5 project.

It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on everything participants have accomplished and to share their work with family, friends and supporters.

Over the course of the project, we worked with over 150 community members and a whole host of brilliant volunteers and local artists! It was truly a celebration of Pocklington!

Film Screening Invitation

We're excited to invite families and supporters to watch the film created as part of the project. Keep an eye on your emails for more details on this...

SEND Monthly - Thirsk

Our flagship SEND group at Rural Arts continues to be filled with creativity, friendship and fun.

Each month we explore a different theme through drama, games and creative activities. So far this year, we've enjoyed:

💛 National Friend Day

♻️ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

🌱 New Beginnings

Every session is packed with imagination, laughter and opportunities for young people to express themselves in a supportive environment.

Power of 10 Success!

We are delighted that three of our young volunteers at our SEND monthlies have achieved their Power of 10 Award.

This fantastic achievement recognises the commitment, effort and positive contribution they make to our SEND group.

A huge congratulations to all three young people.

We were also delighted to welcome Jo from Power of 10 to present the awards in person. Thank you for joining us, Jo!

Stamford Bridge - Platform 66 Update

Our regular youth hub at Platform 66 continues to be a hive of activity every Monday during term time.

Creative Hub (Ages 6-10)

🕓 Mondays 4pm-5pm

Youth Hub (Ages 10+)

🕠 Mondays 5:15pm-6:30pm

This term, Creative Hub has been hard at work exploring 'The BEAST Project'.

What started as an exciting opportunity to help create a bus stop mural earlier this year has grown into a much bigger creative adventure. Young people have continued exploring the stories, sounds and characters of the BEAST world while completing Arts Award activities.

The imagination and enthusiasm they've shown has been fantastic to see.

Launching This Summer: PYPIC (Putting Young People in Charge)

We're excited to launch a brand-new FREE holiday programme at Platform 66!

PYPIC (Putting Young People in Charge) is designed for young people aged 6-16 and will offer a range of creative and engaging activities during school holidays and half terms.

But this isn't just another activity programme - PYPIC is all about giving young people a voice! Participants will help develop, plan and shape future activities and events at Platform 66, ensuring local youth provision reflects what young people actually want.

Young people can:

✨ Get creative

✨ Try something new

✨ Make friends

✨ Build confidence

✨ Help shape their community

Young people can attend as many sessions as they like, but spaces are limited, and booking is essential.

This exciting project has been made possible thanks to funding from the Do It For East Yorkshire Community - Our Place Youth Provision Grant.

Thank You!

A huge thank you as always to all our young people, families, volunteers, partners and funders. Whether you've been performing on stage, recording a radio play, creating shadow puppets, volunteering, attending sessions or cheering from the sidelines, thank you for being part of the Thunk-It Theatre community!

We can't wait to share more exciting projects, performances and opportunities with you soon!
